Gavin Ramjaun is a presenter, host and senior journalist across popular TV, radio and content in the UK – in sports, entertainment, mental health and news. 

Gavin’s personality, energy, manner and diligence when it comes to presenting is something which stands out to audiences on first impact…His TV work includes hosting and anchoring for BBC Sport and BBC News, BBC One, Sky Sports News, Sky News, CBS News in America, breakfast television for ITV and Channel 5.
Along with developing a strong social footprint, he’s often hosting for media events, business keynotes, and other creative commercial campaigns – including diverse work for Barclays, Marriot Hotels, Four Seasons, AJ Bell and Reckitt Benckiser.
Currently one of the main faces of BBC Sport, Gavin is hosting rolling sports coverage and programmes for the BBC’s network of shows across BBC One, Two and News Channel, in addition to BBC World which has a reach of over 400 million a week.
Gavin also presented rolling and breaking live news coverage for the biggest sports network in the country – Sky Sports – and hosted live at several events and matches with global appeal. At the US network CBS, he was a London correspondent, specialising in breaking news – anchoring live from the scene on major stories including terror attacks and big royal occasions, and fronting human interest pieces for mainstream audiences in America.
He’s also known for his work as a global speaker, talking to international business groups on making messages and stories count, his life experiences and working his way up from the bottom as a runner, his experiences with diversity, racism and breaking barriers, his knowledge and forecasting on the current media landscape, and hosting awards and dinners.
His passion for the industry and people has seen him grow this interest by engaging in motivational talks to youth groups, schools and universities.
These experiences have led him to begin a new chapter in his broadcasting and publishing career, with the start of his Multi-Channel Broadcasting network MAN-ZILLA online and on social.
It’s a men’s focussed news and entertainment platform. The channel caters for independent news and feature projects, to address men’s status issues, mental health and identity – with the flagship podcast and videos – to satisfy a targeted underserved demographic.
Work with MAN-ZILLA complements his work on Youtube in the sports, entertainment and mental fitness field – which include vlogs on current topical content, a positive news show, and self-development vlogs.

 

In 2014 Gavin played a senior role in launching a new television network – London Live, in conjunction with the Evening Standard newspaper…. In addition to this, he became one of the first faces from TV to front a fully online news series with Yahoo, and assisted by anchoring on a first global 24 hour African news channel.

Over the years, Gavin’s extensive journalistic background has seen him work on ITV’s flagship show This Morning, as a news presenter, reviewer and contributor in the magazine show’s interactive hub section. He’s also highly regarded for his work with another ITV programme, morning news show Daybreak, hosting their 2012 Olympic coverage and other news events. Before this, Gavin was a presenter on the BBC News Channel and correspondent for BBC Breakfast but got his on-air break presenting Newsround and Sportsround on CBBC from 2005. Gavin’s also worked on radio, as an analyst with Global’s LBC and news presenter with Capital, a reviewer for Talksport on the morning breakfast show – and previously reported on BBC Five Live, the Today programme on Radio 4, and the famous BBC World Service. He later became one of the youngest presenters in BBC World TV history at the age of 26. He also fronted national and international sports coverage for the BBC News Channel and BBC World, and reported on the Winter Olympics in February of 2010.

Academically Gavin gained two top degrees at Cardiff University in business, then went on to complete the postgraduate journalism course at City University. He started his career in the media as a runner for Ant and Dec on the peak time series Saturday Night Takeaway, and before joining CBBC in September 2005, Gavin was a trainee broadcast journalist for ITV at Meridian.

Born and bred in Worcestershire, he’s a keen footballer in his spare time  – he played semi-professionally as a teenager and in university, and now plays regularly for charity and media teams touring the country. Travel and learning about new cultures is something he is truly passionate about, an interest stemming from his roots in Ile Maurice, with relatives also across Europe. Random fact about him … he held the world’s loudest whistle in 2007!
